Today is Easter Sunday.
This is day, according to Christian belief, when Jesus resurrected from the dead after 3 days.
This past week was considered as the Lenten Season. So we called it Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday, Easter Sunday.
The first 3 days of the holy week are the last 3 days of Jesus Christ in teaching on Earth. Thursday is the day when he suffered from betrayal of one of his disciples. Friday is when HE's crucified at the cross and died. Saturday, there is no God. Sunday is the celebration of his coming back to life.
Some other religions do not have this kind of beliefs. I respect them.
For Christian like me, we do acknowledge and surely, we know the story behind this event.
In some places in the Philippines they have their own ways of celebration. In Pampanga, meron ditong tinatawag na "SINAKULO" or ung pagpapakita ng sinapit ni Jesus through a play. There are some na talagang they said "PANATA" na nila to which means they do it every year. Meron talagang nagpapapako sa krus~literal. Totohan yun. Walang joke. Kaya naman because of that, many foreigners visit Pampanga to watch this event.
Sa mga Christian naman, meron Last Supper on Thursday or yung holy communion.
Friday, we do have a church service that has the "SEVEN LAST WORDS" theme.
Sunday, we have "SUN RISE SERVICE". Ito dun yung time ng service namen ay early in the morning like aroun 5 o'clock to welcome the sun rise (which symbolizes Jesus's resurrection). Hindi nmn talaga simbolize pero somewhat ganun.
This is also the time when people go to their hometowns to spend the long weekend with their families. Since it's considered as National Holiday, people have lots of time for a vacation. For government employees and selected private companies, Thursday pa lang ay wala ng pasok. For us, online-esl, Friday walang pasok and for those who work in BPO or call centers, if it's your day off, good for you. If not, too bad. So dahil vacations, people usually go to Grotto vista to pray and some go swimming. Yeppee! Summer kasi!
Kaya this early morning, we woke up early like around 4am to prepare ourselve for the Sunrise service. It's a district wide service so all the UMC churches under District 3 are invited to attend. There were a lot people attended the said service. Though it started late, still the message was really a blessing from God.
Later, we will go to a bithday party. Its Trisha's 18th birthday. hehehe.. So that means kainan ito ~ mah favorite!
Tomorrow, pasok na ulet and there will be more number of classes starting tomorrow. Actually the admin said last thursday that we were expecting 200 VIP Students. At lahat iyon ay magagaling already. Tsaka MOnday uulan ng students. Good luck! Hope makayanan at mapagtsagaan ko pa to!
So that's it for now. Perhaps, I will write again next time as long as merong bakanteng oras.
HOTTA ~ HOTTA ~ HOTTA ~ SUMMER!
Cheers!
