Photos of REQUIEM

THOMAS ~ THE DOUBTFUL

WE are the reason that He gave his life...

It is finished! - God

The fruit of our labor was a very very good one.

We performed for 3 nights but on the last night, we did the play twice.

We performed 2 times because of the numbers of people watching.

Our church was not able to handle a large number of audience so we have to divide them in 2.

That was the first time that we needed to perform twice in one night.

We bring back all the praises and glory to our GOD!

Hurray!!!!

Musical Play

Ayan ang pinagkakaabalahan ko recently. We started conducting rehearsal for this musical play since December 2010. We first practiced the vocals, chorus and solos last December 2010. Then we started the acting part in January 2011. This is an original play write. It is written in English but we are going to execute the dialogues in Filipino. But the songs remains in English. The writer is the brother of our director. OMG, I forgot the name of the writer. hahaha I am very excited to be a part of this moving musical play. Actually, this is my second time of joining a play. The first time was in 2009. My character name was PODALIRIUS. The title of the play was "ARTABAN, the FOURTH wise man". It was shown in December 2009. Hopefully, REQUIEM wont be the last musical play that we are going to do. :D All praises be to GOD...

Sick Sick

For some reason, here I am again, sick in bed.

It started on Wednesday when I woke up having a sorethroat.

Then Thursday came, same feeling. I took up some medicine such as Neozep and Medicol hoping to stop this incoming cold to no avail.

Kaya naman, on Friday, it came out. I catch this bad cold.

I was in the office, when my feelings got worts.

In fact, I was teaching, with teary eyes, tapos naiiyak pa ako sa sipon na ito.

Then while teaching, my time na natulo ung sipon like water sa ilong.

I needed na yumuko from time to time at mag mute ng mic para lang suminga.

At na babahin pa ako nun.

Grabe! It was really hard to teach.

But the bosses did not mind that.

They did not even ask me if I can still do it or not.

Ala nmn akong say don, anyway. I was able to do my task still.

My calls on Friday were all bad. Kasi nga dahil sa condition ko.

At strange pa ung voice ko.. hahaha

Recorded pa nmn ung mga un sa hopefully hindi un ang ma QA saken.

This Saturday, ala akong ginawa kundi ang mag rest, kumain, magnet at mag sleep.

May praktis nga para sa musical play e. But I texted the director that I wont be able to attend gawa na rin nitong sakit kong ito.

Ayoko nmn mahawa din sila since cold is a viral infection.

So there, hopefully, tomorrow e kahit papano mag subside na tong pakiramdam na ito.

PS. Let's continue to pray for Japan and the people who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

Always,

marcus ^^

ASH Wednesday

I was walking along Farmers Plaza in Cubao yesterday when I noticed this cross sign on the forehead of every people. Well, it was not actually new to me. It happens like every year when lenten season is coming.

Ash Wednesday, as they call it.

According to Wiki..
"Ash Wednesday, in the calendar of Western Christianity, is the first day of Lent and occurs 46 days before Easter. It is a moveable fast, falling on a different date each year because it is dependent on the date of Easter. It can occur as early as February 4 or as late as March 10.

According to the Canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus spent forty days fasting in the desert before the beginning of his public ministry, during which he endured temptation by Satan.[1][2] Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of this forty day liturgical period of prayer and fasting."

So there, dont be surprised the next time you see people with this sign. They are not a member of a cult or something. They are just exercising their belief.

System Downtime

System Down

Yesterday was like one of the most happiest moments here in the office. The system went down for like 2 hours and because of that, we have to stop working. Our work is internet based so when the internet went off, we wont be able to have access to our system. Which was like a blessing in disguise for all of us but not for the korean managers.

The system never went down that long. Last year, we also had system down but it only lasted for less than 20 minutes if im not mistaken. However, yesterday's happening was remarkable. Haha. Aside from the not being able to gain access to the system, the internet port was turned on. It was usually the effect of the system downtime. So all the computers on the floor have internet access and you can notice the silence. Because all of the employees were busy updating their status on FB. No one was walking on the hallway. Even the comfort rooms were empty. Cool! We were enjoying the internet access while the korean managers were dreading because of the situation.

Anyways, up until now, the employees have access to internet and that makes our FRIDAY a very, awesome one. Im pretty sure that nobody will get mad or irate in their calls. I heard one teacher said, 45 calls would be fine as long as internet is on. :D

Good luck teachers!
Let's just hope that on Monday, you will still have this opportunity to gain access to your FBs at work.

Enjoy while the surfing at work lasts...
Cheers everyone!
Have a good weekend!

Samil Movement

March 1st

My parents were worried yesterday because I was not waking up on the usual wake up time. I heard them talking about me. They said i was late for work already. Hahaha Funny but how nice of them, really.

Since we were on a holiday yesterday, I got up really late like around 12pm. I dressed up and went to the mall to buy a bag. I bought this nice backpack at the dept store. Then, bought something from Mercury drug store then went back home.

At 6pm, I headed to the health club (gym, maiba lang). I worked out until 8:30pm. I got home at 9pm because I waited for the rain to stop before leaving the gym.

So there, that was how I spent my holiday off. Nothing special. Though that day was not paid by the company, still good because I was able to have some fun without thinking about my work... :P

Farewell

It's the last day of the month and that means the last class of the students from the first batch this year. Their 2 month contract will end today. Kaya naman some of the teachers are happy kasi ung mga boplaks na students ay mawawala na rin sa schedule nila and some teachers are sad kasi ung mga favorite nilang students ay mapupunta na sa ibang teachers.

Ganito ang system dito sa account namen. If hindi na mag continue ung students sa pag study online, ung mga mag continue to study ay malilipat sa ibang teachers. Lucky you kung mag stay sayo ung student or if they still requested you as their teachers.

Anyways, sanay na kame sa ganitong system. Kids come and go. Some students will get your email add, some wont. Some will remember you, most will forget about you.

What is most rewarding para sa mga online teachers ay ung may matutunan ung bata sa loob ng 2 months na pagaaral. It is a success when you hear them answer in complete and correct sentence. If you hear them express themselves.

Teaching English online is not an easy task. One has to have the passion, and the patience in dealing with koreans of difference levels of understanding. One has to have the knowledge in basic computer skills too. One has to have the ability to gauge the comprehension skill of the students. One has to deal with different attitudes of people, not only of the students of the co-teachers as well.

Patience is indeed a virtue. As long as you enjoy what you are doing, you will surely stay and remain. Once you have lost the fun in teaching and the interest in learning, then, you might not stay for a long time.

As for my students, i will surely miss all of them.

Accident!

It was around 5:30pm, when I got a phone call from my older brother's wife. She was crying as she was talking to me on the phone telling me that my older brother, met an accident.

My brother, who was driving his tricycle crushed into a patrol vehicle, leaving the side car broken. There were 2 ladies inside the tricycle, one is like teenager and the other was her mother. Ung si teenager, nagkaron ng pasa sa my left arm, bukol sa left side ng ulo at pasa parin sa mi balakang. However, her mother was badly hurt. Ung right foot nia, nagkaron ng hiwa because of the broken sidecar. It was bleeding and the mother was shouting for help. Ung patrol van na binanggaan, hindi nmn ganun ka grabe ung ngyari sa sasakyan nila and hindi nmn nagalit ung driver. Instead, he helped my brother about the situation. They headed to the hospital para ma stitch ung hiwa.

My mum, sister and I went to the hospital right away. Nakita namen ung bro ko na sobrang worried dun sa loob ng emergency room habing nitatahi ng doctor ung hiwa sa paa nung naaksidente. Andun din ung asawa nung babae at ung anak na girl. The atmosphere inside was full of emotions. My mum talked to the husband of the woman and asked for apologies for the accident.

After the operation, we all went to the Police Station to file for a report about the accident. They gave back my brother's driver's license and the papers about his tricycle. The issue was then settled. We paid the hospitalization, medicines and the follow up check up for the wounds.

Good thing my brother's wife's aunt arrived and gave some financial support. The bill was then paid.

This was the first accident ever happened to my brother. He said he was too nervous and has some fear of driving so he wont drive yet.

Nobody wished for that to happen. It was an accident. It might have been avoided but it was there already. Good thing that was the only injury happen and nothing very serious. Still, thanks be to God.

Lesson: Check your brakes and the condition of your vehicle always before leaving the house. Also, always look at the road and not to somewhere else.

May everything be fine and let's hope that the medical check up on Tuesday would be enough.

God bless everyone!

Fluff 1

T: How are you today?
S: I'm hot.
T: (Smiled) You mean, you feel hot because its humid, right.
S: Yes.
T: Why are you hot then?
S: I play my friend.
T: (natawa na, green kasi ang isip eh.. lol)

In every classes that I conduct, I always start with "How are you" questions. Sometimes, I use "how have you been". "have you been busy today". What's new". But then, I dont get any answer from the students. Perhaps, they dont understand the question. So I stick in using 'how are you'.

The conversation above was from my T-TH class. I was talking Sarah, 13 yr old girl. Oh well, it meant nothing to her but it made me smiled and laugh a little. ( A little daw oh.. ) hahaha

OMG

5 days of ...

This year, we have 3 days off because of Seollal or the Chinese New Year. It falls on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday plus weekend - that makes it 5 days off.

Advantages:
- complete bed rest
- enough time to spend somewhere and go somewhere else
- vacation to many

Disadvantage
- UNPAID

Oh well, weighing things out, better to look at the brighter side.

In 5 days, I did a lot of things.

Accomplishments:

* I was able to exchange the clothes at Ginger Snaps for my newphew. I went to Eastwood mall first then to MegaMall to be able to return it.

* I went to the mall wide SALE at SM North Edsa where I bought a shirt from Jag and a slim fit pants @ Vplus store.

* The highlight, I hit the gym for 2 consecutive days. HAHAHA

So those where the things that made my long weekend meaningful.

Oh yeah... :D :D :D

Mall Hopping

mall hopping

Yesterday, my older sister asked me a favor. She said, kelangan i-palit ung damit ng baby nia kasi sakto lang ung sukat e gusto nia bigger size para mas mapakinabangan. It was a gift from one of the ninongs. Sa Eastwood mall binili, GingerSnaps.

So I headed to Eastwood mall to return the said clothes @ GingerSnaps. So I arrived at the mall and located the store. However, they dont have any stocks anymore that has the same style and color of the baby polo and pants. I asked them if I can do an exchange to another branch in other malls.

I suggested SM North Edsa which I am near to, however they called the store and they only have another size for the pants but not the polo. So I suggested another mall, I told them about MegaMall. Shoot! They have what I am looking for.

Then I went MegaMall. I was clueless where to find GingerSnaps so I asked the guard. Finally, I found it. There, I was able to return and exchange the clothes for my sister's baby. I just added 30php for that. I roamed around before deciding to go to SM North.

I arrived at SM North Edsa. So I aas really starving that time so I look for Starbucks and bought my favorite drink, Caramel coffee based frap Grande.. :D I love it.
I walked around the mall before I rode the bus going home.

Hitting 3 malls that day. I was tired but felt proud that I was able to achieve my goal. :D

Hopefully, I can do mall hopping with someone. :]

GYM

Gym Time

Today is Chinese New Year so Happy New Year to all our chinese friends out there. Of course, we had a box of tikoy from the chinese manager of my sister. Tikoy is best when you mix it with scrambled egg before frying. :D

Anyways, I made up my mind. I have decided to hit the gym this afternoon. I thought about it twice but good thing, my ate wanted to go there too so I was not alone. Ofcourse, I packed up an extra shirt and a small towel because I know Im gonna sweat a lot.

We went there together at around 6pm. The session fee is 40php per head - unlimited time plus 5php for unlimited mineral water.

There, the gyim instructor entertained us and led us to have our warm up exercises. After that, then I started to use barbels. The target is to have my biceps, triceps and chest be developed.

Gosh!! As in Waaaahh! I thought my arms wont work anymore after several times of weight liftings. Up until now, nangangaly braso ko. But I can feel the muscle construction. I did treadmill too. There were a few people kanina kaya hindi nmn ako masyadon nahiya magbubuhat dun. Pero, grabe tlaga. Ganun pala magwork out.

We spent an hour and half at the gym.
I told myself, I will go back to that gym. Hehehe
Ngayon lang ako nag sweat ng ganun. Enjoy mag gym lalo pag mi kasama ka.
So bukas, punta ulet ako dun. :D

MY GOAL: to become physically fit.

Seoul Barbecue

Seoul Barbecue

The managers often give a lunch treat to the best employees of the month.
I remember when I was chosen as the teacher of the month in April last year, we went to Kogi restaurant located at the 2nd floor of Eastwood City Mall which is walking distance from our company.

This time, riding in Mr. Lees, car, all the newly promoted Supervisors headed to Seoul Barbecue which located along E.Rodriguez avenue in Libis QC.
It is not really a big korea restaurant but its kinda popular they said.

The waiters greeted as a very warm "Anyong Haseyo" as we enter the resto.
10 seats were reserved for us.

As usual, they served us the side dishes first which includes the very famous kimchi, sprauts, small slices of korean pizza, a squid balls with yummy soup, fried dilis and some other vegies.

A few minutes more, they served the main dishes we ordered. We had bibimbop, bulgogi, tempura, fried makarel and a spicy food.

Before I forget, we also had some pineapple. :D as a dessert.

When koreans eat, it is like a feast. There are so many food on the table. But for them its just a normal meal. So Mr. Lee, our managers who treated us the said lunch, told us that korean mothers are really playing a very important role in the family especially in preparing food.

It was really an awesome lunch with Mr. Lee, Mr. Kim, Ms. Malu and the newly promoted supervisors. We enjoyed every minute of stay at Seoul Barbecue.

I recommend this restaurant for a fantastic and delicious korean food experience.
So when you visit Eastwood, dont forget to dine in at Seoul Barbecue.

Cheers!

Congratulations!

I am writing now while watching the movie 30Days of Night: Dark Days 2010

Alright. I was in a hurry going in the office today. I got up late from bed that was why.
On my way here, I encountered a lot of "aberyas". First, the traffic. Second, MRT train, and last, Jeep going to Citibank.

I really thought I wont make it to attend the lunch meeting with the managers BUT, glad, I did make it.
We held it at Seoul Barbeque Restaurant located near Mercury @ Eastwood City, Libis.

It was my second time to be with the managers eating korean food.

Mr. Lee gave a short congratulations speech for all us, newly promoted Supevisors. He made short because he doesnt want us to lose our appetite in eating.. lol

About the place....
The resto is nice.
The place looks very warm and clean.
The waiters are really helpful.
and the food? oh~ so yummy.

We had a lot of side dishes from kimchi to spinach and korean pizza.
We had a tea made from rice they said but it doesnt really have a taste unlike icedtea.
I prerred cold water instead.
And the main dishes: bibimbop, my favorite, bulgogi, tempura, fried makarel, spicy soup and other which I dont know the korean names.
All of those foods are so so yummy and healthy.

I wonder when this thing will happen again.
Thank you Mr. Lee for a very yummy lunch.

Always,
marcus

New Year, New Life

Happy new year!
Let us all welcome the year 2011 with a bang!

This is my very first entry for this year.
It's been a while since the last time I wrote in here.
Well, I had been busy doing a lot of things at work and at home.
And, im trying to manage some other things. Hope you understand.

Anyway, I am still thinking about my new year's resolution this year.
Actually, I have already thought about it. Hmm.. Here are they:

* To get physically fit. I have noticed that I am becoming bigger. hehe So, I thought of enrolling myself in the nearby gym around my neighborhood to help me become fit. I dont really want to lose weight. I just want to tone my body.

* To save money. I bought a netbook last December as a christmas gift for myself. This year, Im gonna start paying the credit card bill. So in order for me not to have net loss again, I need to properly budget my small earnings to pay all the bills and the same time to save some for future use.

* To learn something new. I am planning to learn another language. Perhaps, Im gonna continue studying the German language which I started several months ago. I stopped because the lessons were getting really harder and my tongue was getting twisted..lol

* To enjoy what life offers. Well, this year, Im gonna be more open to changes and to what comes and goes. Ill try to become more positive and to lessen expectations to lessen the disappointments as well.

So far those are the things in my mind. Im gonna try to think of any other things to add if in case. Well, good luck to myself. I hope I can meet those things.

Cheers everyone!

I say again, happy new year!

It's me,
marcus
