Yesterday night, I went down for my lunch to buy something to eat. I headed to the HK Style Noodle stall because I was craving for their noodles. While I was waiting for my order, I was looking around observing what the people were doing. Then someone caught my attention. Just on my left side, there was a foreigner, perhaps an American guy together with his son eating in one table. Then, there were 2 kids [filipino kids] walking there asking for alms, or limos. This American guy called the 2 kids. I heard the guy asking the 2 kids if they want some food. Well, because these children dont know how to speak English or maybe they really did not understand what the man said, both of them smiled and nodded.
The man went to Chowking to get something. I guess they still had some more food so he gave those spoon to the kids and had them share the table. I was observing these kids, they were shy and hesitant. While the man was not around, these 2 kids attempted to talk with the son of that man. Maybe did not really understand each other but I saw this american kid nodding to both of them. The man came holding 2 tablespoon. Probably, they still have some more food so he gave those spoons to each kid and let them eat.
I was moved because that was the first time that I saw a foreigner who invited children to join them in eating. I think that was a good form of help instead of giving them money.
Then, I looked at the person who was cooking my noodles, he was smiling because he was also observing that foreigner. Anyway, my order was ready so I got it and paid then went back to the office and eat.
The spirit of Christmas is really on the air. Such act of kindness showed that Christmas time is really for kids.
I rarely see some kind of an act of kindess like the ones I observed yesterday.
Not many people, especially foreign people in the Philippines would do that same.
I'm just glad that there are still some who are willing to help.
Sigh.. that was really touching.. :)
Peace to everyone and let's spread the love.... (",)
